Stephanie Brown is a character in Batman. And there you have it. Unmasked at last. Thus the reference is obvious in its sinister implications. See, Stephanie Brown is the daughter of some evildoer named Cluemaster who, no doubt is a crony of the Joker. Now, we all know that the Joker is best known for his botoxed smile. He also works in cahoots with another ne'er so well named 2 face.

DON'T YOU GET IT? Joker + 2 face = smi2les. It took me a few weeks to work through the sly hints and red herrings and decipher the truth. And, by golly, now that I know the truth, I must share it with you all. Sinister is as sinister does.

Oh the horror!

But wait! Stephanie Brown in the guise of The Spoiler is one of the good guys. Sure she had an illegitimate kid which is heinous enough, but she is a true heroine who often works with Robin, the boy wonder.

Yes, I researched this well, boys. I actually glossed the Wikipedia article on the subject after the real Stephanie personally clued me in as to her true identity.

Wait a minute. Who still reads Batman?

Now I shall begin the task of unraveling all your screen names--your alter egos--and exposing the truth.

N'a ha ha. Try and stop me. I already know all your first names; it's just a matter of time.

Hope that clears it all up.

Now, back to your program already in progress,
"Leave it to Bobby."

And with a grin I was 3face'd. Nothing left 2 do but smi2le smi2le smi2le. I was getting ready for The Big Brother watch in 1984.

Holy shit, Batman.

If only you would turn your powers to good, the world would be such a better place.

Damn, my friend, slow day?

Hot day. The greenhouses are up over 100 degrees and since we run a lot of mist to keep the plants cool, the humidity is around 80 percent! You do the math. Do you use cool cells as a.c. in the dry desert? You know, fans pulling air through wet pads? It increases your humidity to a nice level while cooling. Here, it increases the humidity level beyond the limits of human endurance.

It's enough to drive a man to don a mask and become Orchidghost, able to strike fear into the mass of men and women by waving a pair of garden shears around his head while dancing naked.

Actually, when I found out the "connection," I couldn't stop laughing at all the foolishness we sometimes get into around here and do a little googling.

Ah, the absurdity of it all!

Thank God for air conditioning!

That was a mental image that I could have gone the rest of my life and died happy never having seen.

There goes lunch.

But GOP ...

My name is actually Stephanie Brown (and no, I am not going to scan in my birth certificate and post it). I have never read a Batman comic in my life ! Jackie, Smash Hits, True Romance etc, yes, but Batman etc no.

Feel sorry for my poor son, he can't even shorten his first name to Dan anymore since that man wrote that (IMAO pointless) book !

Brown is actually a very common name in the UK.

All I can say is there are some people (thankfully) who can tell the difference between reality and dodgy pre-pubescent boys comics.

However, as I said in my post last night, I think for the good of the forum this subject needs to rest. So why not get on with the important stuff ?

Stephanie:

My post was to poke a needle in the hot air balloon that floated around here the other week. When you pointed me to the caped crusader, I had to take a peek and get a good chuckle at the absurdity of those threads.

I haven't read a Batman comic in thirty five years myself.
Hence my not getting the supposed reference back then. What adult would link your (real) name to Batman and hence to smi2les? It's important, sometimes, to laugh at some of the lunacies that pop up on these pages from time to time.

Of course it's absurd. I'll bet that there are a few pages of Stephanie Browns in your local telephone directory! BTW, it's a common name on this side of the pond, too. My ex-wife's sister in law was named April May June--now there's a true burden!
